I first started partime in london on in 2000 worked in a grab at the western fair had fun made some money .Mitch ask if i was interested in travelling with the fair for the next year.I was giving his busness card and thought i will never do that leave my new family and work with the fair.spring of 2002 not working call Mitch for a job for the summer' yes he still rememberd me so that is when it I started may 02 in brandon mb warehouse work. This was my first time out west working every day was hard work but when i got my first cheque it was all worth it.Then the stampede was on i'm sorry but i don't remember much it was all a blur of hell.then Edmonton what a difference it's so easy compaired to Calgary . Regina "corndog capatil of the world i beleive" .Then i had enough i bought a plane ticket came home and said never again.until spring of 2003 started in Brandon i was in charge of two grabs istarted to make some friends that made it easier to enjoy .every fair seemed the same just a different city it was getting boring i'm going to skip to Saskatoon i made it two toontown where the people have never seen a local fair before and a new crown for "corndog capatil of the world" it never stopped from open to close.then we had the fun drive two Toronto and that is where i packed that year in.So june 04 i started in Brandon in charge of all six grabs i was so busy i didn't have anytime to enjoy myself until july31 my 30th birthday in Edmonton go oilers go we drank outside the trailer till the sun came up carnie alarm clock time to go to bed .Regina Toontown corndog heaven.then the long drive two Toronto driving through Thunderbay new road no lights on the side of the road no lines on the road real fun at 3am arrived in Toronto and that was it never again. 05 06 no fairs for me .Then came may07 I called Mitch ask him for a job again he said things will be different this year you will only need to work in one grab.I started in Brandon at warehouse yes it snowed one morning .Iwas having lots of fun seeing out fair friends making new friends the job seemed easier.when we where closing Brandon a large rain and wind storm little did we know that this was just the start of storms to come.Winnipeg was the first big fair of the year but before it started I hurt my knee really bad so i just struggled through the fair until the last weekend and then when the storm visited the fair it didn't seem to matterd anymore.Calgary a day off to goto Banff that was very nice.the stampede was so busy so hot millions of people but i still had fun.Edmonton still hot .Regina corndogs.Toontown corndogs.Toronto still working "in kiddyland" what did i do wrong.oh sorry done by 10pm thankyou. my family came down for a couple days it was great.then i had 1 month off and we drove to South Carolina two weeks in sunny weather. That was an adventure with all the wonderful people.I will remember all the great times we had over the years i just thought i was going to write a couple lines down the job was wonderful the friends and work experience you will never get anywhere else.I would like to say hi to everyone who worked on the fair grounds.Mitchell Concessions Mitch,Bob,Dave,Ted,Linda.Little donuts Keith, jessa.Icecream Jay,morgan.Jayss shaved ice Jay .and all the faces i can't remember.

Conklin Shows was my breakout into the real world of employment as an adult. I learned that real, hard work is rewarding and that some relationships last for years. Working the "Wheel" was a pleasure! I had a great time travelling the country with Conklin, for the short time that I did.
