Started working in a private concession in Calgary, then moved into a payroll position that travelled from city to city across Canada. After Toronto I went onto work the smaller shows in the smaller towns, it was an experience I would never forget. The people were wonderful and when I take my daughter to the fair now I search faces to see if there is still anyone that looks familiar.

I met Trish at UNB, when Conklin first gained the western contract from Royal American. I was one of several university friends who found summer jobs in '76, but the only one who returned in later years. I started on the Sky Wheel crew, returned to crew on the MGR and Hi-5 and was eventually given charge of the MGR - first under Gordy Brebner (and Gord Banks), later Barry Ford. some of the best years of a fascinating life...

I started working for the show when I was quite young.. only in my home city of Regina though. From then on I worked for Meester Mike across Canada only to return home after T.O. (what stories I could tell there) I worked for Mitch for a few years in Canada also a few years in Dade with McCullough. What can I say about the show - I love it. I made a lot of good friends some of which I still stay in touch with. Some days I wish I could go back but right now children are my life - maybe when they grow up I might be back!

What is there to say? It was THE hardest work I've ever done, but I have VERY fond memories of my time on the road. I mostly did the last few shows of the season, from Springfield, MA on. Never made it through a whole season, though. In '99, I was in Edmonton and I got REAL sick, so I had to take a bus... home... to Massachusetts! You haven't lived until you've taken a bus from Western Canada to the East Coast of the U.S. with walking pneumonia!! LOL. But, I wouldn't trade those experiences for anything. I have memories of every town I played in, of the people I met who were almost like an extended family. I had laughs, shared tears, loved and lost... it changed my life the first time I went out, at age 18, fresh out of high school and a sheltered home life. I did a -LOT- of stupid things... pissed Dave Potopas off but GOOD in Winnipeg. But, I can honestly say I have no regrets. All knowledge is worth having, and all experiences can be learned from. I wouldn't change those years for anything... Thanks for reading... and if you remember me at all, please feel free to email me, I'd REALLY love to hear from you!

One of the most memorable summers I can think of.I was cycling across Canada and needed some funds so I stopped at the show in Winnipeg, to inquire about working a few days; well it turned out to be a 3 city tour and I found it to be a blast if you don't mind the hard work involved.I met lots of great people and got to see all the sights and sounds, like I said it was awesome and I'm still not done yet as I plan on hopefully doing the Canadian tour in 2005. See ya soon.

Well, In 1998 I hooked up WIth Sammy Arigo and Big A amusements in Hamilton. Since I had worked for Campbel amusements in the past, and knew about balaning a ride - Sammy assigned me to his Prized -Pink Big Eli High 5 wheel. SInce Sammy put that wheel in all the good Conklin spots - I got the chance to meet up with a few of the clan. But the big start was in port Dover - Barry had sent up the Wackyshak. And With it he sent some people that would turn out to be good friends of mine for years to come. For two years in a row - On the same day In the same spot- In Ottawa on opening day, I was given Employee of the day - Still dunno how or even why. But after my first two weeks there in Ottawa - I was convinced to switch shows the next season. SO determind was I - I even showed up for Skydome during march break that winter. I showed up the first day of the season - ready and excited to learn... Boy was I in for a surprise! They put me in the last place I expected...really. They also had a high 5 wheel - Yup... I'm not learnin nuttin...Same old same old. Ha ha. But I learned so much,I didn't know I was learnig. The people - the way of life. I met my future wife Peggy, wile we were in Chatham. Who joined us that season, working a ticket Booth for Bloke. Come Brigden, and the end of the season. We got a place together in the area. We still live with our two sons within a 15 min drive from there...ANd always look forward to the time of year when our friends swing by and see us each and every season. Cheers guys - And I'll see ya @ the watering hole.
