I picked up the Western Road Show @ the stampede where my older brother(my younger brother also did the did the loop a few years)was running a couple of joints. Worked fr Greg Gravell and Alf Philips Jr.and did 4 Western tours while going to University.Alot of fun and for a student-my last swing, I made 35k for 56 days - nice summer money!Best story - The "Man Eating Chicken" trailer from the states- SCARY painting on the side( big chicken-people running). Go in and see a big guy consuming a bucket of KFC!!!

I originally joined with the show with Mitch's Pizza/Cookhouse and moved to Superdogs the following year where I remained for a number of years before returning to the Pizza. During my time on the show, I made a lot of good friends, gained some family members and overall came out a far better person than when I showed up. Those that knew me knew that I was a bit strange but fun to be around and loved to f@#k with people. I was the one who started the whole "Anderchicken" thing in '96/'97, in case anyone ever wondered where that came from. I left the show in 2004 and now find myself returning for the 2006 season. So big wigs beware; the prankster is back full force, and it's gonna be a hell of a season.

I worked a few summers with Conklin shows starting off with the stampede and ending up at the CNE. I also went to San Juan and Santo Domingo. Interestingly, I ended up in the US when Deggler bought some of the routes because I was deported from Canada in Calgary. (I believe it had something to do with making fun of a cop when I was working with guest relations) It turned out Collin Forbes (?) hadn't completed my work papers. I clearly remember wearing a conko t-shirt with DEPORTEE on the back of it as I received a police escort onto the plane. Would love to know what Donna Peacock and Joan(I can't remember her last name now) are up to now. I saw Trish about 12 years ago in San Diego but have no idea where everyone is now. I'm now married to a navy captain (a pilot) and living on a 40 acre horse ranch in the black hills of South Dakota with horses, 4 dogs and 2 cats.

Well to start my Uncle BOB SALO asked if I wanted to work for him & conklin shows in toronto for the summer. I remember him asking me if I wanted full time or part time. I chose full time and boy did I make a mistake, I worked everyday, morning to night. But I learned so much in such a short time, I miss him, he seemed to have disappeared from us all. He had a friend named Trish, I was young but I remember her being so beautiful. She was a Conklin. I just want to thank Conklin and My uncle for a short moment in my life that will never be forgotten. If anyone can help me locate my uncle please let me know, I just want to say Hi and thank him. He's in my thoughts and even though he may not remember but I do because he was a hero in my eyes. My uncle was very proud of his job and took alot of pride in what he did. I'M in my mid 40's now have a family hear in georgia.I still to this day tell stories of some of the greatest days of my life was working for conklin and my uncle.thanks again bob salo II,
